A $4500 commission is available for an artist to create an outdoor sculpture in Greensboro, PA. Artists from in and around the Southwestern Pennsylvania Region are invited to apply for “River Towns Public Art Project” for Greensboro Borough which is funded, by the Sprout Fund Seed Award and the Greensboro Elm Street Project. Artists must be able to create their visions in a way that represents the glass and pottery history of Greensboro and the environmental attributes of the river, either solo or with a team, at an outdoor location to be determined by the community in Greensboro, PA.
The project is open to Southwestern Pennsylvania Region artists, age 18 and over, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability. This proposal is accepting submissions for sculptural art pieces only. JANUARY 4, 2012 by 5:00 PM is the deadline for submission of the proposal.

The International Glass Prize 2012 is a triennial international glass competition for arts, design and crafts. This project is an initiative of Charlotte van der Seijs' private foundation and is organized by the glass museum GlazenHuis in Lommel, Belgium. This first edition is focusing on THE OBJECT.
Prize money of EUR 20.000 and two residency periods in the studios of the GlazenHuis will be awarded by the jury: T. Oldknow, R. Meitner, J. Boelen and J. Maes.
Applications are free and can be easily submitted online until February 1, 2012.

Glass Line magazine is seeking images to publish in a juried collection of beads exemplifying excellence in glass beadmaking. Submissions may include single beads or a collection of beads. We are looking to publish a body of work that showcases the wide variety of creative talent in the art and design world as it applies to the creation of beads in glass.
