Multi-week Sessions
PGC offers in-depth eight-week classes for beginners who are ready to take the plunge into a longer class. Unless otherwise noted, classes meet for eight weeks in three-hour sessions.
Hot Glass 1 (8 sessions)
Price: $550
Get ready to get physical as you get in touch with your artistic energy in a completely new way! In this introductory Hot Glass 1 class, you will learn to gather molten glass from the furnace, and then shape it into various forms from paperweights to simple blown forms such as cups and bowls in clear glass. The instruction will focus on a team approach to glassblowing, with an emphasis on safety, proper tool use, basic techniques, and materials. You’ll never drink from a glass again without appreciating what went into making it!
This class is appropriate for students with limited or no hot shop experience. You may also wish to take this class a second time in order to continue to develop and refine basic skills before moving on to Hot II. Each time you take it, you will gain confidence and skill as your passion for glass addiction grows.

NEW! Hot Shop Open Studio Friday 9:30 – 11:30 am
A new offer for students currently enrolled in a Hot Glass class at PGC! Fridays are now open studio day for anyone enrolled in a Hot Glass class. After week three of class, you are eligible to rent in the Hot Shop and practice what you’ve learned for a discounted rate of only $20/hr per person (price includes all tool rental). In addition a technician will be on duty to answer your questions or help you get over a hurdle. Time can be booked on a week-to-week basis but must be scheduled ahead of time. Stop by our Studio location at 5472 Penn Avenue Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 10am to 7pm or Friday, Saturday or Sunday 10am to 4pm.
*Unless otherwise noted, you must be at least 13 years old to take a workshop or class.
