Dates: July 28 - August 1
Level: All Levels
Cold Shop

Brian EngelPat Bako has taught and demonstrated coldworking nationally and internationally. She currently teaches at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. The coldworking studio is indispensable for working with glass. Don’t fear it! Learning to utilize the cold shop will bring a new dimension to your creative process and allow you to finish your work professionally. Learn the basics of safety and operation of the machines in the cold shop, move on to discover the perfect polish versus the quick polish and gain knowledge of the lathe for wheel engraving, carving, shaping and cutting glass. Sandblasting, drilling, sawing and UV laminating techniques will also be covered. We will complete several polished, cut and sandblasted projects. Additionally, you may bring in your own glass work and receive individual instruction on how to resolve specific coldworking issues. From the absolute beginner to the advanced artist, this class will sharpen all of your coldworking skills and make you a confident cold shop user.
