Joel O'Dorisio's work has been represented in private and museum collections including the Museum of American Glass and the Carnegie Museum of Art. This kiln casting class will focus on creating ultra-clear crystal castings. Students will create wax or clay positives that will be cast in open face molds using fluid flow dynamics. Basic cold working techniques will be introduced to enhance the light manipulating qualities of glass. Size of sculptures will be limited by the time available; however the course will focus on scalable techniques so that larger castings can be created.
