Tony Serviente is an experienced instructor in beginning and advanced stained glass and kilnforming. Do you lean toward elegant stained glass? Have some hot kilns caught your eye? Then again, a demure etching may be occupying your daydreams of late. If you crave a glass technique soul mate, then this class may put you on the path to a partnership for life. The instructor will lead you through a fast-paced series of projects featuring fusing and slumping (kilnforming), etching, and traditional stained glass processes. Fear not, these vitreous relationships are open and in fact thrive on infidelity. Students will be encouraged to experiment and combine as their muses dictate. While the pace will be speedy, there will be an opportunity to delve into the technical details that are a foundation for a stable and long relationship with these interesting techniques and perpetually beautiful material. Tools for exploration will be observation, experimentation, humor and caffeine.
