Teen Week Boot Camp

Teens take over Pittsburgh Glass Center in this one-week intensive summer boot camp!
Forget sitting in a classroom. This course takes place in one of the top glass studios in the U.S. with a furnace full of molten glass at 2,200 degrees. This is a rare opportunity to create glass art at the furnace or torch, blowing and sculpting on the very first day! This could be you.
- Face the furnace and learn to handle a blow pipe while gathering, sculpting and blowing molten glass.
- Fire up the torch and learn to use heat and gravity to shape molten glass in miniature form for marbles and jewelry.
- Make it funky and learn to fuse, slump, cut and laminate flat glass to create your own designs and patterns.
- Polish it up and learn to sandblast, etch, grind and finish your work like a pro
