The fire in our furnaces burned bright in 2009 thanks to our many friends and supporters.

This year, we:

Educated over 15,800 people about glass art through our classes, lectures and public exhibitions
Gave 25 scholarships to high school students
Supported two public art projects in Garfield and Downtown
Saved $12,000 by rebuilding an innovative, more energy efficient furnace
Made by hand 37 bowls for the G20 Summit as gifts from President Obama
Hosted First Lady of Japan Miyuki Hatoyama

As you know, there’s always more we can do to continue to grow artistically. We want to always be recognized as one of the best places to learn about glass art and contribute to Pittsburgh’s thriving arts scene.

In 2010, we will:

Educate 20% more people
Give 35 high school scholarships
Support more public art projects – one is already planned in Shadyside
Double our energy savings by replacing the boiler and rebuilding another furnace
Create even more amazing glass art
