In this one week study you will have the opportunity to explore a range of 104 COE beadmaking techniques, tailoring practice time to best meet your personal goals. Emphasis will first be placed on form and structure, practicing strict shaping through heat control. Complimenting form, beadmakers will also learn a suite of techniques to color their beads using Thompson enamels, spending ample time to learn their properties and safe use. Additionally, you will study the nuance of surface work while building straight line stringer and heat control skills through repetition. Stringer demonstrations will focus on the micro-details of drawing intentional lines, intersections, termination techniques and the wonders of enameled stringer. Demonstrations will be followed by practice time, including one-on-one troubleshooting and assistance. Discussions will also include the joy of practicing, color choices, design layout and the business of making beads.
