We're going to make cups. You are going to watch and ask questions. You're going to draw and we're going to give feedback. You'll watch and then work. We'll watch and then work again. You'll be challenged to escape your comfort zone and let go of what you know.
We'll push you to consider the object, the material, and how they can come together through your hands to connect with humanity and deliver meaning. We'll drive the process with pace, rhythm, repetition and communication.
You're going to get frustrated and break things. We're going to up the pace and you'll break more things. Then we'll do it all over again. Watch, process, learn, watch. This is called an intensive for a reason: it's going to be intense.
This class is not appropriate for students who want to make some mediocre things and bring home objects at the end of the week. This class IS appropriate for advanced makers who want to watch, practice and bring home KNOWLEDGE at the end of the week.
Bring a sketchbook, smartphone with camera and pencil. Or two.
