This class is an exploration of techniques to construct 3 different glass boxes with fitted decorative lids, and a wall panel that will feature a small triptych story.

We will cut sheet glass into strips and stacks and, by using found forms and fiber paper, discover we can create glass boxes any size and configuration we want. In creating fitted lids for the boxes, and a wall piece, we have the opportunity to define with fiber paper, an area in which to showcase and personalize flat glass decorative components we will also make. The magical, endless properties of thicker fiber paper will become evident in every step.   

Coldworking will be integral to our work and give the finish it deserves. All firing schedules and project construction “shop drawings” will be supplied. Cutting experience at an intermediate level required.
