You'll learn a variety of techniques in this class.
Learn to make 3 types of flowers: snow flowers, crocuses and sweet pea. We’ll learn to make different shapes of petals and discover different ways to get the thickness we need. Then things will get interesting and we'll setup full branches of flowers. At the end of the class, students will have created a full bouquet of their own glass flowers.
We'll also try two different ways to make a jellyfish bell and tail. We’ll discuss our color choice and work with half transparent and silver glass focusing on encasing. We’ll practice a lot to cover the bead with crystal clear. As the result you will make two different jellyfish beads.
We'll learn to make murinni flowers in a few easy steps. We’ll start working with stamens pulling easy murrini. Then we’ll discuss the way to choose the color of the petals and find out how to get the shape of the petals. Understanding the way to make this flower will give you the foundation to make any murrini flower or fish.
And we'll also sculpt a frog and octopus on the surface of a bead, and a chameleon on the end of a mandrel. We will focus on working with shape and proportions using different colors of glass. We will also use striking silver glass for the chameleon. Using stringers we will sculpt glass forms. After this class you will be able to create your own glass animal with your own special design.
