Join us for an opening reception for This Is Becoming a Pattern, during our annual RAD Days Open House. Free and open to the public. We will be joined by several of the exhibiting artists. Glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the evening and light refreshments will be served.

6:15–7:00pm: Artist Talk with Joanna Manousis

British/American artist Joanna Manousis will discuss the trajectory of her studio practice, with an emphasis on her decade long pursuit in creating three-dimensional mirrors in cast glass sculpture. Joanna is currently a PhD researcher at The National Glass Centre, UK, where she is expanding the creative possibilities of silvering and gilding on investment cast glass. Joanna will present a varied palette of mirror effects unveiled through studio testing, along with graphite press-molding technologies that allow repeatable forms to be made with reduced waste. Whether you are an artist looking for technical knowhow, or you are interested in the use of mirrors in art practice, this talk will have something for everyone.
