Sarah Montrond was born and raised on the south shore of Massachusetts. She received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Painting and Art History with a minor in Glass. She graduated with departmental honors from the FA2D department. Montrond fell in love with the medium of glass over the summer of 2018 while traveling to the Czech Republic. Sarah has shown in various exhibitions, including Processing Pattern: Material and Function at POP-UP Worcester in Worcester, MA, and Fresh Faces at the Abigail Ogilvy Gallery located in Boston, MA. She has had travel residencies to Haystack Mountain School of Craft in Deer Isle, Maine, and countries like the Czech Republic and Venice, Italy. She has been awarded scholarships to attend craft schools such as Pilchuck Glass School and Haystack Mountain School of Craft. When she is not in the studio, she is out in nature with her Border Collie named Sierra.
