Pittsburgh Glass Center is one of the top glass facilities in the U.S. World-renowned glass artists work and teach in the PGC studios because of the:

Hot Shop

PGC has a spacious Hot Shop that comfortably accommodates both large  and small teams for a wide range of uses. Our ample annealing space allows for large-scale work as well as quick turnaround production. You will never run out of quality glass with our two 1,000 lb. state-of-the-art Wet Dog furnaces. Flame Shop

PGC's Flame Shop is air-conditioned and fully equipped with Nortel Major/Minor torches. Herbert Arnold, Carlisle CC and National hand torches are available upon request. The best flame artists work in our studio including Emilio Santini, Matt Eskuche, Jill Reynolds, and Loren Stump among many others. Get more details on the studio & rental.

 

Kiln Shop

The Kiln Shop at PGC has flexible space for kiln forming with state-of-the-art ventilation, individual mold making room and convertible clam shell annealers. We are joined by some of the best kiln artists including Susan Taylor Glasgow, Kari Minnick, Helen Stokes and many more. Get more details on the studio & rental.

 

Cold Shop

PGC has one of most well equipped cold shops in the country. With two of every machine, you will never have to wait to grind. The studio is flooded with natural light and has plenty of table space for work. There is no project that is too ambitious for our Czech lathes and the arsenal of sintered diamond wheels available. PGC has been fortunate to host a number of world-class cold working instructors like Frantisek Janak, Jiyong Lee, and Kathy Elliot. Get more details on the studio & rental.
