Capacity
If there is enough room in the studio, we can accommodate up to 40 people at a time.

Schedule
Keep in mind that we need 2-3 weeks to schedule, that we can not schedule on Mondays, and that PGC studios are closed and therefore unable to schedule for the following dates:
August 11 - September 9
November 28 - December 2
December 23, 2019  - January 1, 2020
April 12, 2020
May 10 - May 22, 2020

Item Pick Up
None of the items can be taken home on the day of the activity.  Most items are ready for pick up within five days of the activity date.

Deposits/Payment
Once we agree on a date, we will need a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit that goes toward the final payment.   Then, 30 days in advance of the class we will need the group organizer to make the non-refundable/non-transferable payment for the final number of attendees.
All deposit payments are final. For cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the scheduled date, bookings receive a full refund less the deposit payment. There is no refund or transfer for cancellations received 30 or fewer days before the class start date.

Privately Scheduled Activity Options

Private Make-it-Now ($35-$45/person)
Get a taste of glass!  With five or more people, you can schedule a get-your-feet-wet experience-- working with an instructor for 15-20 minutes to make an item with minimal involvement.  Instructors assist students in this option more than any other group option, allowing the student to just get their feet wet with glassblowing.  Each person makes one item and the group can expect to be at PGC for about one hour.

Demonstration and Tour ($7-$15/person)
With ten or more people, schedule a narrated glassblowing and/or flameworking demonstrations to watch artists gather, shape and blow amazing works of art.  Then, go on a guided tour in our contemporary glass art gallery to learn about a new contemporary glass artist and Pittsburgh's rich history in glass.  This option does not include the opportunity to make something in glass.  The group can expect to be at PGC for about one hour.

Hands-On Activity ($40-$50/person)
With five or more people, you can schedule a make-it-now + demonstration + tour that gives you the chance to see artists work together to create a beautiful work of art before making your own item. Then, you'll take a tour of the facility to learn a bit more about studio glass art and glass art in Pittsburgh.   Instructors assist students in this option more than any other group option, allowing the student to just get a taste of glassblowing. Each person makes one item and the group can expect to be at PGC for about two hours.

Private Two Hour Workshops ($80-$100/person)
With four or more people, you can schedule a two-hour workshop.  You get to do it all, except gathering glass from the furnace.  This option is the most hands-on as well as the Private Two Hour Lesson. Each person will make two items and the group can expect to be at PGC for about two hours.

Private Two Hour Lesson ($120-$200/person)
With one to two people, you can schedule a private lesson with personalized instruction in any aspect of studio glass art from glassblowing to bead making, cold working and more. You get focused attention from our experienced instructors at your own pace. Beginners benefit by learning the basics and building a strong foundation. Experienced artists expand their skill set by focusing on a specific technique. This option is the most hands-on as well as the Private Two Hour Workshop.  Each person typically makes a couple of items; however, the lesson if formatted based on the student's learning goals.
