EITC Program

EITC Program

Your business can support Pittsburgh Glass Center's innovative Education Programs while obtaining a significant state tax benefit. Simply put, when you contribute money for educational programming, EITC lowers your tax liability.

Pittsburgh Glass Center has been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to offer Educational Improvement Tax Credits [EITC] to companies who make a donation to PGC’s qualifying educational programs. PGC offers students of all ages the chance to discover the science and art of glass through opportunities such as learning from skilled teaching artists in PGC’s studios or their school’s classroom, and engaging with critically-acclaimed contemporary glass art through PGC’s exhibitions. Each learning opportunity promotes creative thinking in students and instills life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, and respect. The following programs are eligible for support through EITC contributions:

Businesses who contribute to Pittsburgh Glass Center through the EITC program can receive significant tax benefits. Any approved business can receive tax credits equal to 75% of its contributions up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year, while approved businesses that agree to contribute the same amount or more for two consecutive tax years can receive 90% of their contributions as a tax credit. This means that a business can receive up to 90% of their gift total as a tax credit, and a gift of $10,000 could result in a tax credit of $9,000.

3.    Make Pittsburgh Glass Center the recipient of your EITC-eligible contribution

Once your application has been approved by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), your business must contribute to a qualified organization, such as PGC, within 60 days. You need to send proof of the contribution to DCED within 90 days of the approval. PGC will send you an acknowledgement letter as proof of your contribution, and you are required to send a copy of this letter to DCED.
