A long-time writer and publicist, Janet discovered glass art as a mid-life student at The Crucible in Oakland, California. Melting glass quickly became a passion! Swapping her keyboard for a torch, Janet joined the faculty at The Crucible. There she developed classes in the glass fusing and flameworking departments and mentored young artists from underserved communities.

At Pittsburgh Glass Center Janet works in the glassblowing and flameworking studios and as a part-time front desk associate. Her own work is a continuous exploration of new techniques, with a focus on organic forms combining glass and metal. Janet is a glass art evangelist committed to expanding access for teens, seniors and people with disabilities.
