Silver Kim is an artist who captures the narratives of contemporary Koreans in her work with humor and insight. She works primarily in glass, reflecting her interest in the enduring spirit of Korea, but also incorporates numerous other materials like wood, metal, and found objects, as well as media such as video.
Silver has received scholarships from Hongik University, Corning Museum of Glass, and Arrowmont School of Art and Craft. She holds a BFA in metal art and design, woodworking and furniture design, and ceramic and glass at Hongik University, Republic of Korea. Silver is currently studying for an MFA in Glass from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
