The Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass (AACG) has announced $15,000 in scholarship funds to be awarded to meritorious glass art students attending 2026 summer intensive classes at Pittsburgh Glass Center.
AACG visionary scholarships are based on merit. The purpose is to identify, support, and award promising glass artists who currently live and work as glass artists in the United States, or who are working towards a career in the field of glass.
Candidates should possess intermediate or advanced knowledge in the glass field. Occasionally AACG has awarded professional artists who work in other media, but who are seeking to incorporate glass into their work. These scholarship awards are not intended for beginners, but instead meant to recognize and reward demonstrated talent and promise in the field of glass.
Applicants who wish to apply for this scholarship should indicate their interest on the scholarship application form. Statements should include their experience level in the glass field and whether they currently work as a glass artist or have the intention to do so. Applications must include high-res images of the artist’s work. Completed applications must be submitted by March 15, 2026.
The process for determining awardees is collaborative. Pittsburgh Glass Center and the Visionary Scholarship Committee of the AACG will select awardees. PGC will notify recipients of awards by the end of March.
AACG Visionary Scholarship award recipients will be asked by AACG to provide high-quality photographs of work completed during class as a result of the methods and techniques they learned from their class for publication in the 2026–2027 winter newsletter.
