Parties at PGC

Evening Cocktail + Dinner Parties

Schedule your holiday party at Pittsburgh Glass Center and give your employees, clients, and guests the opportunity to explore PGC’s unique facility and gallery after-hours. Once the home of a Studebaker showroom, it was redesigned as the only green public-access facility for glassmaking. In addition to the unique amenities found in a glass studio, the urban/industrial chic building has open spaces for meeting, eating, and greeting and many windows with neighborhood views and warm breezes during the spring, summer and fall months. During the winter, it’s a great place to warm up by the furnace and host a holiday party. PGC staff can work with you to book catering, bartending, and all the services you may need to make your party a signature event. People love hosting events at Pittsburgh Glass Center because you and your guests can:

  • Feel the heat from the furnace as glass artists twirl, block and blow in the Hot Shop, creating amazing works of art.
  • Explore colorful, contemporary glass exhibits in the Hodge Gallery
  • Make your own one-of-a-kind glass art, or receive a custom glass gift made by talented PGC artists (must be ordered in advance)

Corporate Retreat Tours & Hands-On Glass Activities

Get outside of the office and build camaraderie among your colleagues and team members with a change of scenery and a taste of glass-making at PGC. Exercise the right side of your brain with a hands-on glass activity and tour of PGC’s studios and gallery, and then round out your retreat with the option to book a private conference room for lunch and a meeting. Instructors lead each participant through glass activities ranging from making paperweights to beads to fused tiles - no experience necessary. Expect to roll up your sleeves and go right to the torch, furnace, or fusing studio to create your own masterpiece. All hands-on activities include a live hot glass demonstration and a tour of PGC’s current contemporary glass exhibition.
