A formula that shatters the notion of glass, SiO2 is a hands-on glass art program for young artists taught in one of the top glass studios in the U.S.
SiO2 students create glass art, learn the scientific principles behind glass and apply the life lessons inherent in studio glass art such as teamwork, discipline, communication, leadership, achievement and respect.
Pittsburgh Glass Center offers 10- and 12-week after school programs in the fall and winter, plus a one-week boot camp in the summer.
All students participating in the after school classes will have the opportunity to showcase work made during class in an end of session exhibition, and have that work professionally photographed. These photos will be provided to the students to use in their portfolio at no additional cost.
